Sustainable Step-in Assessment

The following represents a minimum sustainability good practice checklist for hotels.

This assessment has been developed as a cooperation between Travelife for Tour Operators and Hotel Resilient - piloted under the SWITCH-Asia SUSTOUR and TourLink projects. The audit is based on a detailed comparison of the GSTC Criteria for Hotels and Accommodations, the WTTC Hotel Sustainability Basics, Travalyst's 32 accommodation attributes for sustainable tourism (used by Booking.com, Expedia and Google), the UNESCO Sustainable Travel Pledge, the Department for Environmental Quality Promotion (DEQP), the Thai Green Hotel Standard and the Travelife for Hotels standard.

This audit addresses issues of social resposibility & environmental sustainability in tourism.

Score: 73 / 100 %

This audit addresses issues of internal social responsibility, cultural preservation, internal environmental management, supply chain engagement and customer communication. In addition, this self-assessment will help you to figure out where your business stands in terms of sustainability, where you're already doing a good job, and where there's room for improvement. Sustainability has become essential for the success and continuity of tourism businesses. Responsible practices in hotels not only save costs, improve staff satisfaction, have positive impacts on customer experience and their likelihood of returning, but help us to save our planet.

Evacuee Accommodation Questionnaire

This assessment has been developed for the purpose of determining the capacity of a hotel to accommodate guests who have been forced to evacuate unsafe areas in case of disasters.

Score: 75 / 100 %

The assessment evaluates safety protocols, essential amenities, and support services tailored to meet the specific needs of evacuees. By examining these key areas, we aim to ensure that the hotel can provide not only a secure temporary shelter but also a supportive environment. The results will be used to identify those hotels that would satisfy the level of care required for accommodating evacuated individuals, families or other groups of people.

Our back-up generators are now flood-proof

We are a hotel that takes disaster preparedness seriously. We've upgraded our back-up generator with flood protection to ensure we can continue to provide power in the event of a flood. We've also created a comprehensive disaster plan and trained our staff to be ready to respond in case of an emergency. Our guests feel reassured knowing that we're prepared for any situation. It's important for us to prioritize the safety and comfort of our guests.

We stopped using single-use plastic

As owners of a hotel, we feel responsible for the impact we have on the environment. We've taken steps to eliminate all single-use plastic in our property and replaced them with sustainable options. Our guests have been supportive of our efforts, and we've noticed an increase in bookings as a result.
